Hello, Thank you for visiting. My name is Jay Listle and I am the founder and owner of VINYLCRETE® Docks and Decks. We're conveniently located in Tarpon Springs and currently serve all of Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties. A boater for many years, I lived on the water and watched in amazement as the dock behind my home quickly deteriorated from rot, rust, decay and those nasty little wood-boring marine creatures. In 1998, it came time to replace my failing dock. After reviewing the available options, I was totally unsatisfied with the choices available for dock replacement. Basically it was more of the same, a real recipe for an early return of deterioration and failure. A General Contractor by trade, I watched the revolution from wood toward vinyl products take place in many facets of construction, but it seemed to exclude the marine industry. I decided if vinyl fences made sense, so did vinyl docks. The problem was, I could only find one vinyl piling available at that time and a plastic lumber company was manufacturing it... It was cost prohibitive and I just wasn't satisfied with the strengths obtainable with the plastic lumber. Again dissatisfied with the choices available to me, I knew there had to be a better way. So I set out to create a revolutionary pier system, that would be unlike anything available to date. Stronger, more durable, cost effective and safer than anything else in use. I hired Professional Engineer Thomas F. Devening, a PE certified in both California (earthquake country) and Florida (hurricane alley) to help me develop a specialized vinyl piling that would mean the end to rot, decay, rust, splinters, constant maintenance, replacement, and early failure... the norm in standard dock construction. The marriage of reinforced concrete and vinyl was the resulting answer - Vinylcrete® was born. Vinylcrete® consists of a 5000 psi concrete core, with epoxy coated, steel reinforcement... all encapsulated with a special vinyl that has UV and impact modifiers for a lifetime of enjoyment. And that is just the piling! The rest of the dock is just as well made with the finest, proven products on the market. So go ahead, walk barefoot across your Vinylcrete® dock, you'll never go back to a wood dock again. And the same system that makes such a terriffic dock, also makes a wonderful deck for your home.
